Is it wrong...

... that I didn't like the new Thom Yorke album that much?

I've been listening to it as we travel on this train, and it's a bit... not good.

Sorry, I just can't bring myself to insult that man.

Only

Nin Only LoSo I'm trawling through the folders of my 'pooter, just looking at the vast collection of SHIT that I've managed to get together over the past x years, and I found the video clip for NIN Only.

It's very nice.

Nin Only Lo2I like the simplicity in it's abstract complication. I like it's Mac. I like it's coffee. I've always liked the speaker vibrations whenever I've seen them. I don't know why. That's why I hated those UK O2 mobile adverts. They just weren't right. Perhaps the vibration is like the Brown note; you jsut have to feel it for it to work.

Nin Only Lo3The only disturbing thing, and I want to be clear... it's very minor, is that I wonder if it'd hurt to do the pin thing in some sort of reality. Yes I know they are not sharp, and yes I was a child in the 80s so I have seen one (although never owned one, so...). Yes I also know it'll be computerfied images. I just wonder about these things becuase I have an imagination. You might want to try that someday.

Nin Only Lo4There should be more videos like this. And more monkeys. And more money. And more boobies.

Baby stuff

Now both Matt and Boing Boing told me about this, but if you go to http://www.babyrockrecords.com/web/page.asp you can hear the lullaby version of "No Surprises" by Radiohead. It's awesome.

This will also show up in my link post later,

Went to Elbow the other week. They are very, very good live. That lead chap Guy is a laugh, and the whole thing was perfect.

Very... emotive and all that. I reccomend it. You should go. Do it. Please. Tell them I sent you. have some fun. Smile at the sad songs, because that's what they're good at.

Guilty

So I recieved this last week:

Guilty Pleasures

Ok here is something I have been thinking about following my idea for Miguel's Christmas present and therefore I thought I would cast the net wider

We all like our music, we all have different tastes, but we have a lot of crossover (otherwise we wouldn't have gone to gigs together), so the cunning plan is as follows

Each month each person creates a CD of 'guilty pleasures' that gets distributed amongst the group for gratis etc. etc. By doing this we get to find out each others musically guilty pleasures and we get exposed to different stuff, or even stuff we know but we've forgotten about.

Miguel has already given me volume I and II in his series and I have given Miguel my volume I, I therefore invite you Ms. McNeilis and you Mr. Peacocke to join in.

Here comes the science....

Each month make a CD of no less than one hour in duration
No artist can be repeated on a single cd
(and for bonus points one live performance would be cool).
Having produced the CD give it to the person on your right. In addition pass on any CD's that you may have received from the previous month.
If you are receiving back a CD you either produced or have heard before take it out of circulation.
To ensure that no bias is imparted when listening, no track listing is to be provided
To ensure you don't get confused each CD is marked as which month it is for and who created the guilty pleasure.
No restrictions on genre
No restriction on artist
No restriction on age

Therefore for February it works like this

C -> S -> M -> K ->

Clokey passes to Sharon a new February guilty pleasure plus Miguel's vol. I and II
Sharon passes to Miguel a new February guilty pleasure
Miguel passes to Kristian a new February guilty pleasure plus My vol1
Kristian passes to Clokey a new February guilty pleasure.

or something like that so that we each get to listen to each others stuff.

Sounds like a plan?

Failing that Miguel and I will carry on distributing CD to each other anyway :-)

"You have the honor of being addressed by the Brigadier. Now get out of my solar system." Old friends come back, and it's all good, and my Doctor is back.

I might have said it before, but this BBC audio thing is BRILLIANT. Go and buy now. It has keep me entertained for a few hours on the flight, and deserves to be more popular.

And Bush and Blair are in it. Hehehe.

It's a pity that this direction wasn't explored more, rather than the farting Aliens.
"I've been dead before" brings a tear to your eye...

When I grow up, I wanted to be a Timelord. Now I want to be a God of the Fourth as well.
